It is home to nine Tibetan Villages. Hence, the Chinese word JiuZhaiGou literally means nine village valley.
The Park is in the Min Shan (岷山) Mountain Range, and its elevations ranging between 1,990m (6,529 feet) to 4,764m (15,630 feet) above sea level.
